2. Student Support and Welfare Committee, DAPMRVDC in association with Department of Mental Health Education, NIMHANS, Bengaluru conducted an interactive webinar on “Coping with the Psychological Challenges of COVID 19 Pandemic” on 5^th of June 2021. Series of lectures were delivered by the faculty of Department of Mental Health education, NIMHANS.

3. A webinar on “what next after crown preparation-retraction, impressions, temporization, and cementation”, by Dr. Manikya Arabolu was held on April 5^th, 2021, conducted by Department of Prosthodontics, DAPMRV Dental, College, Bangalore.

4. Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry organized series of seven CDE programs from 05.04.2021 to 17.05.2021. Eight eminent speakers delivered lectures on various topics. Department staff was moderators along with six moderators chosen for these sessions. Students belonging to various colleges spread across various cities (Yamuna Nagar, Chennai, Mumbai, and Nellore) attended the master class.

5. The Department of Periodontics, DAPM RV Dental College, Bangalore, in association with RGUHS and Bangalore Academy of Periodontology, conducted an International Virtual Symposium on “Quality Improvement Process and Auditing in Health Sciences”. The guest speakers were Dr. Keshava Prasad, HOD, Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, DAPMRV Dental College and Dr.Douglas Robertson, Teaching Lead for Fixed Prosthodontics in Glasgow Dental School Chair of the Glasgow Dental Staff Association, on 9th April 2021, on Igesia platform. Dr Asha R. Iyengar, Principal and Dr. Suchetha A., Head, Department of Periodontics were the moderators. Dr. Sridhar N., Dr Sapna N., Dr Darshan B.M., and Dr. Divya Bhat were the Co-Ordinators and Dr. Apoorva S.M. was the programme secretary.

The Department of Periodontics, DAPMRV Dental College, Bangalore in association with Dentsply Sirona India, conducted a webinar on “Demystifying Dental Laser” on 15th July 2021 by Dr. Anand M., Professional Product Specialist, and Dentsply Sirona India. The program Convener was Dr. Suchetha A., Professor and Head, Department of Periodontics. Master of Ceremony and program co-ordinator was Dr. Apoorva S. M., Reader, Department of Periodontics. Program moderator was Dr. Divya Bhat, Lecturer, Department of Periodontics.

6. In pursuance of MOU with Align Tech, Invisalign India University Programme has been initiated in the Department of Orthodontics. Ten patients requiring mandibular advancement are being treated with INVISALIGN ALIGNERS. Its one of the first of its kind programmes in South India where Post Graduate students are trained in this contemporary treatment technique of global standards

Staff achievements

1. Unnat Bharat Gram Aarogya Series:Unnat Bharat Gram Aarogya Series a virtual learning initiative on COVID 19 was jointly organized by NCT-IIT-Delhi and RV Institute of management, Bengaluru on 7^th of June 2021. Dr. Asha R. Iyengar, Principal and Dr. Harikiran A.G., Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry graced this occasion as experts. Dr. Subhash B.V., Reader, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Dr. Pratibha Rani, Reader, Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry and Dr. DeeptiVadavi, Reader, Department of Public Health Dentistry delivered series of lectures on Oral Health and Covid 19.

2. Dr. Dinesh M.R., Former Principal and Faculty of Department of Orthodontics has been appointed

1. to Sub-committee: HR Planning, Development & Strengthening of Department of Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education, Government of Karnataka.
2. as a Member of Board of Studies, at faculty of Dentistry, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences for the year 2021-22
3. as Chairman of NEP & Faculty Development Committee of Vasavi Vidyaniketan Trust for the year 2021-2024.
4. D. Dr. Dinesh M.R. and his family have donated for an Ambulance for Chethana Vihara Covid Centre. During the second wave in 2021, Mr. D.P.Nagaraj, Joint Secretary, Mr. R. Anantharaman, trustee of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust and DR. Dinesh M.R., enabled setting up of High Dependency ICU facility and a fully equipped emergency patients handling Ambulance through CSR contributions from Kotak Mahindra Bank. So far, more than 200 patients are treated holistically with encouraging outcomes.

4. Dr. Suchetha A, Head of Department, Periodontics, D.A.P.M. R.V Dental College, has been re-elected for the post of Editor in-chief for the RGUHS journal for the year 2021-2023.

5. Dr Roopak Mathew David presented a scientific research paper on “Comparison of piezocision and laser (LLLT) assisted orthodontic tooth movement- split mouth RCT” at the 2021 American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session at Boston, USA (virtual) on May 6th 2021.

   He is one of the only 2 Orthodontists from India to have presented a scientific research in this forum.

Dr. Roopak Mathew David also walked the ramp as 40 + AGELESS INDIA BRAND AMBASSDOR

The event was held in Bengaluru on 11^th April 2021 as a part of Body Positivity awareness wherethey work towards inclusivity and acceptance of all with no barrier of age, gender, size and colour.

Student achievements:

1. Dr.Harshita Mundhra and Dr.Anitha.T have won Best Paper presentation for the paper titled ‘LIGA PLANTS: A Therapeutic Modality in the New Era’   at 23^rd IPS PG convention 2021 organised by Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and technology, Jaipurfrom 2nd to 4^th of July 2021.

2. Post Graduate students of Department of Orthodontics, Dr. Vinay, Dr, Sindhura and Dr. Nawal have won II Prize in State level Online Quiz contest by RGUHS to celebrate Silver Jubilee Anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, on 23^rd June 2021.

3. Dr Megha Rao, Post graduate student, Department of Conservative and Endodontics was awarded 2nd prize for the e-poster presentation “Formula -1 Approach for Endo-Perio Lesions” at 1^st Virtual ISPRP National Conference 2021, ‘Coalesce to RESTORE’ from 9^th to 10^th January 2021. She was also awarded best e-poster for the session in SRM –E-Symposium on “Systematic Review and Meta-analysis”, held from 25^th to 26^th June 2021.

4. Krishna Sameera, Pooja Yadav, Safiyyah Maryam and Sagarika B.A., undergraduate students won 2^nd prize in the Oral quiz competition (Online) titled “Spot it- A Call to mind” conducted on 7^th May 2021 at A.M.E.’s Dental College and Hospital, Raichur.

Krishna Sameera also won 1^st prize in Undergraduate category at college level in the E-Poster competition held on the occasion of “National Oral Medicine and Radiology Day” on 24^th April 2021.
