Bachelor of Dental Surgery - Overview
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is an undergraduate program and is the approved professional dental course in India. A BDS graduate receives training in dental sciences which allow him/ her to deal with the diagnosis and treatment of several dental problems. The degree is regulated by the Dental Council of India. It is 5 year program which involves four years of class room ,preclinical and clinical education followed by a 1 year mandatory rotatory internship. It is a compulsory course for students aspiring to work as dentists at government or private hospitals or private clinics.
ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates must have passed 12th (10+2) board exams successfully or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognised institute.
Candidates must have studied the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English compulsorily in their 10+2.

Masters of Dental Surgery - Overview
Master of Dental Surgery ( MDS) is the postgraduate degree in dentistry. This three year course allows the postgraduate to receive specialized training in their chosen discipline of dentistry. The course prepares the candidates to become registered dental specialists allowing them to obtain greater expertise, advanced clinical and critical skills in their chosen field as well as opening up more opportunities in the field of research and as consultants in private hospitals and clinics alike.
ELIGIBILITY:
Minimum qualification : Candidate must have a Bachelors in Dental Surgery (BDS) degree recognized by the Dental Council of India.
Candidate must have appeared and cleared the PG NEET MDS entrance exam with the required cut off. Please refer to the KEA website (https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/) for further details .

Ph.D. - Overview

ELIGIBILITY:
Minimum qualification : Candidates with MDS or Dental PG Diploma are eligible for enrollment of Ph.D Course in Dentistry in concerned subjects only.
Candidates must have passed the RGUHS entrance examination conducted for entrance to the PhD course.

COURSE NAME: PhD
DURATION: Minimum duration of three years for full time course and five years for part time course.
INTAKE: All 9 departments are recognised PhD centres. Please refer to faculty list of the respective departments for the recognised PhD. Guides of our institution. As per RGUHS guidelines, the maximum number of full time or part time candidates a guide can supervise shall not exceed four (4) at any given time.
PG Diploma
DAPM RVDC offers a PG Diploma in three departments. The program is recognised by RGUHS.
ELIGIBILITY:
A candidate for admission to the Diploma Course must have a degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) from a college and University recognized by Dental Council of India .Qualification in the PG NEET examination is compulsory. Please refer to the RGUHS website for further details.
